I own a gym. Not one that everyone can come use, but a gym nonetheless.
I own an elliptical. I own a treadmill. I own a weight bench and lots of free weights I own pilates equipment. I own a yoga mat. I own a balancing board. I own a punching bag.
I own at least 7 dvds, one of which is a 6 disc set.
I own a gym.
In the 6 months I’ve owned the treadmill, I’ve used it exactly twice.
This is when we brought the treadmill into the family room. It will NEVER come out of the family room intact. It will forever remain in that room due to the fact that it was such a serious pain in the ass to get it into the room.
But I’ve been on it twice.
My elliptical? I don’t know how many times I’ve been on it. But we’ve had it for 4 or 5 years. And I haven’t been on it in a while… it’s got an upper weight limit of 250lbs. I’m still above that.
So I own this gym…and I don’t use it. Very often.
Oh – did I mention the workout plans that have been designed for me?
Oh don’t get me wrong – everything I’ve blogged in this has been true. I’ve gone on hikes, gone for runs, gone to roller derby.
But I haven’t used my gym. I have. a freaking. home gym.
Today I did 20 mins on my treadmill. It amounted to 1.2 miles. 1.9kms. Ok, if I can maintain that pace, times 5, I can do the Sun Run in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
I’ll be able to do that by the time April 21 comes around 🙂 I’ve got this dialed.
