I decided I needed to go back to derby before the upcoming bout this weekend. I’m slated to be penalty wrangler and will be surrounded by a lot of people, and I wanted to get back to my team in *private* at a practice before I did the whole public bout thing.
No guarantees I won’t be bawling at the bout, but I wanted to see people before the bout.
Plus I wanted to get on skates again.
I get to practice. The parking lot is FILLED with bicycles and bicycle type people.
The arena had been double booked.
The auditorium being used.
No on skate practicing.
It was a fun practice – all strategy off skates.
I’d sorta kept myself out of the loop with the strategy practices – after all – if I’m not playing, I don’t need to learn strategy yet, right?
Hey… all you derby folk… stop laughing at me. Stop *facepalm*’ing .
I can wait….
Really? You’re still giggling?
I know – it was stupid. I could be learning SO MUCH and lost out on time.
It is what it is though – and I’m going to accept that I didn’t make the smartest decision… but I will be. Strategy is important, and if I learn it NOW before I am playing, I’ll be that much better prepared when I am playing next season.
You can stop laughing at me now.
Did I mention I love my team? They’re an awesome bunch of ladies 🙂
