Last Night’s Workout Didn’t Happen…

The intent was to go for coffee with a friend, then do Day 1 of week 2 when I got  home.

I get home, and I’m tired.  Eyes hurt, can barely stay open tired.  So I thought… “HEY – rather than pushing myself on a 15 min workout which will set off adrenaline and keep me awake for a couple hours – I’ll go to BED and SLEEP”

I’ve been suffering a lack of sleep lately, so I thought this would be an ideal solution, then wake at 5.45am to get my workout in.

Only one problem – this recurring cough I’ve had.  When it started, it was an every night, 2 to 3 times a night waking in a brutal cough that would wake me and hubby.  However, its been getting less frequent – every 2nd or 3rd night and only waking me once, MAYBE twice.

SO last night – when I finally finally finally after almost 2 weeks of being up late, get to bed at a reasonable hour hoping to have a good night’s sleep… I have 3 bouts of coughing that wake me.

So much for my good sleep.

One thing I’m learning is how to bend.  I have, in the past been a fairly rigid – have a plan, stick to the plan and if I can’t stick to the plan, the plan fails.

Now I’m creating a path.  Walking the path, and if occasionally I wander off the path to check out some pretty flower.. so be it.   I can always get back on the path.

The path today will take me for a walk at lunch today, and then do the challenge workout at home tonight.

And hopefully get a good night’s sleep.

On a positive note – I’m down a pound 🙂  The path IS taking me in the right direction 🙂
