OMG it felt good to be on skates!!
I got to practice tonight, very hesitant about my ability and how my body would react to being on skates again after being off skates for 3 weeks.
There was some talk about doing practice at the local pub with a pitcher… but in the end we all got geared up and went skating.
The vets practiced jumping over a 2 foot obstacle.
I tried to time myself for the 25 in 5 – but apparently I thought a 5 HOUR timer would work… I have no idea where I got to – but over the course of an hour or so I did 45 laps full out. (sets of 15, 10, 10, 10)
Bodyrock.tv is awesome, but doesn’t *quite* do it in terms of getting in shape for skating.
But my endurance and my power were there. Just need to push myself more. I’m going to be enlisting the help of my lovely husband – I need him to push me through when I want to quit – and when I’m ready to quit, make me do 3 more.
I love being on skates. I’m looking forward to passing my skillz test and playing in my first bout.
