That’s one week.
One week to get the endurance and skills up to a standard that will grant me access to the “team” instead of being fresh meat.
The bout is August 27.
I am good on falls. Ok on stops. If I can keep going I can do an ok pacing line.
My balance is not quite all there. That is a concern in a number of areas.
But I have a week. A week to be wearing my skates at all times (or most of the time) and practicing skills I can without skating. A week to get up in the morning and do some dryland training and then come home and do a couple hours of skating.
A week to get good enough. Fast enough.
Henry Ford said it best:
Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.
